Jaroslav Valečka graduated from Jiří Sopko's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and has been active on the art scene since the mid-1990s. Over his twenty-five-year career, he has developed a captivating artistic style, drawing inspiration from the North Bohemian Sudetes, a region close to his heart, which he perceives as a panopticon and transforms through his imagination.

He intentionally works with literary content and hyperbole. He programmatically returns to low forms of culture that were rehabilitated with the advent of postmodernism. Throughout his career, he has had numerous successful exhibitions both abroad and in the Czech Republic (for example, the Špála Gallery in Prague, the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery).

This book, which selectively represents his work from the last ten years, follows up on the previous successful monograph by Edward Lucie-Smith from 2015 and thus maps Valečka's work from recent years. In addition to friends from the British Stuckists (Paul Harvey, Charles Thomson), Markéta Hornerová, Rea Michalová, Jolana Pastor, Edward Lucie-Smith, Zuzana Štěpanovičová, Kateřina Tučková, Martina Vítková, and Radek Wohlmuth contributed to this publication. The artist's own biography, in which he writes about his life, may also be of interest to readers.
