About the author:
Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted person who did not seek fame. He lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a small circle of fans and collectors, and scrupulously avoided any media attention or public presentation of his work.
His work, however, is all the more captivating for it. In it, you will find a fantastical world of old times, feminine beauty, and the Parisian Belle Époque, which he loved, even though he never visited Paris himself.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year of 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He passed away in 2023 at the blessed age of 82, having never held a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to rectify this “injustice,” and after Mr. Fian's passing, we began to collect his works from private collections known to us, so that we could present them to you in a comprehensive collection that would allow us to remember this exceptional person and author and pay tribute to him in this way.
Jaroslav Fian's works are practically unavailable on the market and cannot be purchased anywhere outside of private collections. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, we have prepared for you, with the consent of the copyright holder, an offer of selected works in a limited giclée edition, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and a JF blind embossed stamp.
