About the author:
Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted person who did not seek fame, and lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a small circle of fans and collectors, meticulously avoiding any media attention and public presentation of his art.
However, his work is all the more captivating for it. In it, you will find a fantastical world of old times, feminine beauty, and the Parisian Belle Époque, which he loved, even though he never visited Paris himself.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year of 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He concluded his life's journey at the blessed age of 82 (just shy of 83) in 2023, without ever holding a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite having received numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to rectify this "injustice" and, after Mr. Fian's passing, began collecting his works from private collections known to us, so that we could present them to you in a comprehensive collection, allowing us to remember and pay tribute to this exceptional person and artist at least in this way.
Jaroslav Fian's works are practically non-existent on the market and, outside of private collections, it is virtually impossible to buy them anywhere. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, we have prepared for you, with the consent of the copyright holder, an offer of selected works in a limited giclée edition, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and a JF blind stamp.
