Roy Lichtenstein – USA (1923-1997).
American painter, graphic artist, and sculptor. Originally a university professor, he became famous primarily for his large-format works drawing inspiration from comic art. Along with Andy Warhol and Mel Ramos, he was one of the central figures of the American pop art scene of the 1960s. In his work, he often used the "Benday Dots" system – printing techniques that break down images into a dot matrix, which he then transferred to canvas as his comic book originals.
