A "rediscovered" and never-before-published lithograph by Oldřich Kulhánek, which he created during his lifetime on a lithographic stone in the studio of printer Petr Korbelář. With the consent of the author's family, 140 collector's pieces of this work were made and authorized, which can only be purchased at the Czech Gallery of Modern Art.
About the Author:
Oldřich Kulhánek (1940-2013) was a Czech painter, graphic artist, and illustrator. He is the author not only of the graphic design of current Czech banknotes but also created many Czech postage stamps and an immense number of graphic sheets and lithographs. He received numerous prestigious awards, and his works are represented in many world collections. The basis of Kulhánek's work was mainly graphic art and drawing, often focused on human physiognomy and the expression of human faces, into which the character traits, living conditions, and personal experiences of the figures he captured in his works were inscribed. In addition to his artistic work, he also worked as a set designer and teacher. He was the president of the Hollar Foundation, which supports, protects, and develops Czech artistic graphic art and drawing.
