Roy Lichtenstein – USA (1923-1997).
American painter, graphic artist, and sculptor. Originally a university professor, he became famous primarily for his large-format works inspired by comic book art. Along with Andy Warhol and Mel Ramos, he was one of the central figures of the American Pop Art scene in the 1960s. In his work, he often used the "Benday Dots" system – a printing technique that broke down images into a dot matrix, which he then transferred to canvas as his comic book originals.
