About the artist:
Roy Lichtenstein – USA (1923-1997).
American painter, graphic artist, and sculptor. Originally a university professor, he became famous for his large-format works drawing inspiration from comic art. Along with Andy Warhol and Mel Ramos, he was one of the central figures of the American Pop Art scene of the 1960s. In his work, he often used the "Benday Dots" system – a printing technique that breaks down images into a dot matrix, which he then transferred to canvas as his comic book templates.
