Roy Lichtenstein – USA (1923-1997).
American painter, graphic artist, and sculptor. Originally a university professor, he became famous for his large-format works drawing from comic books. Along with Andy Warhol and Mel Ramos, he was one of the central figures of the American Pop Art scene in the 1960s. In his work, he often used the "Benday Dots" system – a printing technique that breaks down images into a dot matrix, which he then transferred to canvas as his comic book templates.
