About the author:
Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted man who did not seek fame and lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a narrow circle of fans and collectors, anxiously avoiding any media exposure and public presentation of his work.
However, his work is all the more captivating. You will find in it a fantastic world of old times, feminine beauty, and the Parisian Belle Époque, which he loved, even though he himself never visited Paris.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He concluded his life's journey at the blessed age of 83 (not quite reached) in 2023, without ever holding a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite having received numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to rectify this "injustice", and after Mr. Fian's passing, we began to collect his works from private collections known to us, so that we could present them to you in a comprehensive collection, allowing us to remember this exceptional man and author and pay tribute to him at least in this way.
Jaroslav Fian's works are virtually non-existent on the market, and outside of private collections, it is practically impossible to buy them anywhere. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, with the consent of the copyright holder, we have prepared an offer of selected works in a limited edition in the form of giclée, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and an JF blind stamp.
