About the artist:
Marina Richter (*1962) is a graphic artist, painter, and creator of Czech and foreign stamps. She was born in Moscow, where she studied at a French lyceum and the Secondary School of Applied Arts, specializing in miniature and icon painting. Since 1983, she has lived and worked in Prague.
In 1990, she graduated from UMPRUM (Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague) with a degree in illustration and graphic design. Currently, she focuses on free graphics, creating ex-libris, drawing, and illustration. In graphics, she uses not only etching techniques but primarily dedicates herself to lithography, which she prints in the workshop of master Petr Korbelář. Her works are masterpieces, as evidenced by her ex-libris and free graphics.
Thematically, Marina Richter combines classical Japanese woodcut forms with lithography techniques. Many of her subjects also draw from antiquity, the Middle Ages, or mysticism. Her artistic signature is clear and distinct; her works are part of private collections in many countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, the USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, and Russia.
