About the artist:
An American artist whose works are bursting with colors, patterns, and cultural references, whether you see them on the street or in an art gallery. Death NYC alternates images of famous personalities – Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, or Mickey Mouse – with iconic motifs from art history, such as Andy Warhol's soup can or Jeff Koons' balloon dog. She thus creates collages that poke fun at pop culture and media-adored "idols." One of her most famous works depicts Mao Zedong with a pink bow in his hair and pink lipstick. Death NYC's humorous and often irreverent street art works often bear the ominous inscription "DEATH," which is an acronym for "Don't Easily Abandon The Hope." Death NYC is from New York and remains anonymous to protect the freedom of her street art creations.
