About the artist:
Marina Richter (*1962) is a graphic artist, painter, and creator of Czech and international stamps. She was born in Moscow, where she studied at the French Lyceum and the Secondary School of Applied Arts, specializing in miniature and icon painting. Since 1983, she has lived and worked in Prague.
In 1990, she graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, specializing in illustration and graphic design. Currently, she focuses on fine art graphics, creating ex-libris, drawings, and illustrations. In her graphic work, she uses not only etching but primarily lithography, which she prints in the workshop of master Petr Korbelář. These are masterworks, as evidenced by her ex-libris and fine art graphics.
Thematically, Marina Richter combines classical Japanese woodcut forms with lithography techniques. Many of her subjects are also from antiquity, the Middle Ages, or mysticism. Her signature style is clear and distinctive, and her works are part of private collections in many countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, and Russia.
