About the artist:

Marina Richter (*1962) is a graphic artist, painter, and creator of Czech and foreign stamps. She was born in Moscow, where she studied at a French lycée and the Secondary School of Applied Arts, specializing in miniatures and icons. Since 1983, she has been living and working in Prague.

In 1990, she graduated from UMPRUM (Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague) in illustration and graphic design. Currently, she focuses on free graphics, creating ex-libris, drawing, and illustration. In graphic art, she uses not only etching but primarily lithography, which she prints in the workshop of master Petr Korbelář. These are masterpieces, as can be seen, for example, in her ex-libris and free graphics.

Thematically, Marina Richter combines classic Japanese woodcut forms with the lithography technique. Many of her subjects are also from antiquity, the Middle Ages, or mysticism. Her handwriting is clear and distinct, and her works are part of private collections in a number of countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, the USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, and Russia.
