About the artist:
An American artist whose works burst with colors, patterns, and cultural references, whether you see them on the street or in an art gallery. Death NYC juxtaposes images of famous personalities – Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, or Mickey Mouse – with iconic motifs from art history, such as Andy Warhol's soup can or Jeff Koons' balloon dog. She thus creates collages that mock pop-culture, media-“adored idols.” One of her most famous works depicts Mao Zedong with a pink bow in his hair and pink lipstick. The humorous and often irreverent street art works of Death NYC often feature the ominous inscription "DEATH", which is an acronym for "Don't Easily Abandon The Hope". Death NYC is from New York and remains anonymous to protect the freedom of her street art creation.
