Roy Lichtenstein – USA (1923-1997).
American painter, printmaker, and sculptor. Originally a university professor, he gained fame primarily for his large-format works inspired by comic books. Alongside Andy Warhol and Mel Ramos, he was one of the central figures of the American pop art scene in the 1960s. In his work, he often used the "Benday Dots" system – a printing technique that breaks down images into a halftone dot pattern, which he then transferred to canvas as his comic book templates.
