About the artist:
Keith Haring – USA (1958-1990).
American street artist – painter, graphic artist, sculptor, muralist, graffiti artist and social activist, whose work reflected the street culture of New York in the 1980s. He gained public attention when he started drawing with chalk on black panels in the New York subway. Together with his friend Andy Warhol, he became part of the New York "new wave" and together they created some performances and artworks ("Andy Mouse," signing dollar bills, etc.). In 1986, he painted walls in Amsterdam and Paris, as well as the Berlin Wall at the Checkpoint Charlie border crossing. His paintings became a universal visual language of the 20th century.
