About the author:
Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted person who did not seek fame and lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a small circle of fans and collectors, meticulously avoiding any media attention or public presentation of his work.
However, his work is all the more captivating. In it, you will find a fantastical world of old times, feminine beauty, and the Parisian Belle Époque, which he loved, even though he himself never visited Paris.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He passed away at the blessed age of 83 in 2023, without ever holding a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite having numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to rectify this “injustice,” and after Mr. Fian's passing, we began collecting his works from private collections known to us, so that we could present them to you in a cohesive collection that allows us to remember and pay tribute to this exceptional person and artist in this way.
Jaroslav Fian's works are practically unavailable on the market and cannot be purchased anywhere outside of private collections. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, we have prepared for you, with the consent of the copyright holder, an offer of selected works in a limited giclée edition, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and a blind embossed stamp JF.
