About the artist:
Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted person who did not seek fame. He lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a small circle of fans and collectors, meticulously avoiding any media attention or public presentation of his art.
However, his work is all the more captivating. In it, you will find a fantastic world of old times, feminine beauty, and the Parisian Belle Époque, which he loved, even though he never visited Paris himself.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He concluded his life's journey at the blessed age of 82 in 2023, without ever holding a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to rectify this “injustice”, and after Mr. Fian's passing, we began collecting his works from private collections known to us so that we could present them to you in a comprehensive collection, allowing us to remember and pay tribute to this exceptional man and artist in this way.
Jaroslav Fian's works are practically unavailable on the market and, apart from private collections, it is virtually impossible to buy them anywhere. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, we have prepared for you, with the consent of the copyright holder, an offer of selected works in a limited edition in the form of giclée prints, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and a JF blind stamp.
