Jaroslav Fian was a shy and introverted person who did not seek fame. He lived his life in modest conditions in Olomouc, Moravia, where he created his works for a small circle of fans and collectors, meticulously avoiding any media attention or public presentation of his art.
His work is all the more captivating for it. In it, you will find a fantastic world of old times, female beauty, and the Parisian Belle Epoque, which he loved, even though he never visited Paris himself.
Jaroslav Fian was born in the war year of 1941 in Olomouc, where he lived his entire life. He passed away in 2023 at the blessed age of 83, having never held a major exhibition during his lifetime, despite numerous offers from galleries and collectors of his work.
We decided to right this "injustice." After Mr. Fian's passing, we began collecting his works from private collections known to us, so that we could present them to you in a comprehensive collection that allows us to remember and pay tribute to this exceptional person and artist, at least in this way.
Works by Jaroslav Fian are practically non-existent on the market and, apart from private collections, are virtually impossible to buy anywhere. Because we do not want to conclude the memory of Mr. Fian with a single exhibition, we have prepared for you, with the consent of the copyright holder, an offer of selected works in a limited edition as giclées, which you can not only view but also purchase in our Gallery. All published works are numbered and provided with a certificate and a blind embossed JF stamp.
