About the author:
Marina Richter (*1962) is a graphic artist, painter, and creator of Czech and international stamps. She was born in Moscow, where she graduated from the French Lyceum and the Secondary School of Applied Arts, specializing in miniatures and icons. Since 1983, she has been living and working in Prague.
In 1990, she graduated from UMPRUM in illustration and graphic design. Currently, she focuses on free graphics, creating ex-libris, drawing, and illustration. In graphics, she uses not only etching techniques but primarily dedicates herself to lithography, which she prints in the workshop of master Petr Korbelář. These are masterful works, as can be seen, for example, in her ex-libris and free graphics.
Thematically, Marina Richter combines classic Japanese woodcut forms with the lithography technique. Many of her themes also come from antiquity, the Middle Ages, or mysticism. Her artistic signature is clear and distinct, and her works are part of private collections in a number of countries, including the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Italy, USA, Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, and Russia.
