About the artist:
An American artist whose works burst with colors, patterns, and cultural references, whether you encounter them on the street or in an art gallery. Death NYC alternates images of famous personalities – Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, or Mickey Mouse – with iconic motifs from art history, such as Andy Warhol's soup can or Jeff Koons' balloon dog. She thus creates collages that mock pop culture's media-adored idols. One of her most famous works depicts Mao Zedong with a pink bow in his hair and pink lipstick. Death NYC's humorous and often irreverent street art pieces frequently feature the ominous inscription "DEATH," which is an acronym for "Don't Easily Abandon The Hope." Death NYC hails from New York and remains anonymous to protect the freedom of her street art creations.
