Andy Warhol - SK/USA (1928-1987). American painter, graphic artist, filmmaker and leading figure of the Pop Art movement. Like his contemporaries Roy Lichtenstein and Mel Ramos, Warhol reacted to the mass media culture of the 1960s. His screen prints of cultural and consumer icons (Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mouse, Campbell's Soup...) themselves became icons and made him one of the most famous artists of his generation. Film stars, models and artists met in his studio "The Factory", themselves becoming "food" for his graphics and films. His works are represented in the most important galleries around the world.
