About the author:
Andy Warhol - SK/USA (1928-1987). American painter, graphic artist, filmmaker, and a leading figure in the Pop Art movement. Like his contemporaries Roy Lichtenstein and Mel Ramos, Warhol reacted to the mass media culture of the 1960s. His screenprints of cultural and consumer icons (Marilyn Monroe, Mickey Mouse, Campbell's soup…) became icons themselves, making him one of the most famous artists of his generation. His studio, "The Factory," was a gathering place for film stars, models, and artists, who themselves became "fodder" for his prints and films. His works are represented in the most important galleries worldwide.
