About the artist:
Keith Haring – USA (1958-1990).
American street art artist – painter, graphic artist, sculptor, muralist, graffiti artist and social activist, whose work reflected the street culture of 1980s New York. He gained public attention when he started drawing with chalk on black advertising panels in the New York subway. Together with his friend Andy Warhol, he became part of the New York "new wave" and together they created some performances and artworks ("Andy Mouse", signing dollar bills, etc.). In 1986, he painted walls in Amsterdam and Paris, as well as the Berlin Wall at the Checkpoint Charlie border crossing. His paintings became a universal visual language of the 20th century.
