XÉNIA HOFFMEISTEROVÁ
Xénia Hoffmeisterová (*1958) is a Czech painter, sculptor, graphic artist, set designer, and costume designer. She studied in Bratislava and Prague at the Theatre Faculty of AMU. Since 1989, she has been dedicated to independent art. She is a member of the art associations Mánes and Hollar.
Xénia Hoffmeisterová's work can be classified as fantastic expressionism, where she visually expresses existential reflections and critiques of the contemporary world. Her paintings are expressive, with a distinctive brushwork and color palette.
In her work, she addresses various themes such as angels and witches, and also tackles the dark themes of the Holocaust and violent death in her skull cycle. She also creates assemblages, objects, and installations.
Xénia Hoffmeisterová has presented her works at numerous exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including galleries in Berlin, Paris, Washington D.C., and New York. Her works are also part of several outdoor realizations, such as the sculpture "Victory of Darkness" in Prague and the installation "Dream in Seno" in Bratislava.
