STANISLAV DIVIŠ
The work of Stanislav Diviš (*1953) is among the distinctive authentic values of the Czech art scene. He was the initiator of a series of generational exhibitions in unorthodox spaces under the title Confrontations and co-founder of the renowned Tvrdohlaví group. He worked as a teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
His work, especially in partnership with Jiří David, became a symbol of Czech postmodernism and significantly influenced semiotics in the Czech art environment. His paintings always stimulate our imagination and have a strong evidential value of signs. His work is also characterized by extensive cycles that exhibit formal and expressive unity.
