MICHAL TĚHEL

Michal Těhel (*1975) is a Czech painter and illustrator who contributed to the illustrations for the book Jusa Vid – Posel v bouři času by Czech author Michal Gulyáš. The book is a fantastic story that combines elements of adventure, magic, and historical events.

Michal Těhel is known for his unique style, which often combines elements of realism with fantastic and dreamlike motifs. He learned his technique by copying the works of old Flemish masters, but his independent work is based on surrealism, and his main inspiration comes from the work of Salvador Dalí.

Using oil paints, he achieves subtle transitions of light and shadow, giving his works extraordinary depth and a dreamlike atmosphere. These paintings can be full of details such as mirror reflections, long shadows, or hints of non-existent landscapes.

His surrealist works are widely represented in private collections both domestically and in Europe, as well as in the USA and Canada
