KRABBE NORBERT
Norbert Krabbe (*1951) is a German self-taught artist. In 1976, he met painters from the Dresden scene, where he maintained close contacts with painters from the "Lücke" group, founded by A. R. Penck. After all his painter friends moved to West Germany in 1981, he could only work in isolation and was forbidden to exhibit between 1982 and 1989. As the sole representative of informal art, Norbert Krabbe consistently pursues an artistic approach that rejects classical principles of form and composition, as well as geometric abstraction. Exhibitions in recent years, such as "Wenn das Gelb das Grau aufbricht" (2011) or "54°3'N 14°E" (2016), have showcased an artist whose lyrical, meditative creations, while having a high recognition value, also stand out due to their richness of form and versatility.
