D. G. SMITH

D. G. Smith (*1946) was born in Lansing, Michigan. Smith is an American artist who attended Olivet College and Eastern Michigan University, where he majored in philosophy.

He is known for using an airbrush to apply acrylic and watercolor pigments, creating flat fields of color on the surface of the paper, making his original paintings appear to be prints. His interest in printmaking did not end there, for he has produced hand-pulled prints as well as commercial offset lithography throughout his career. Smith appreciated the practicality of printmaking as a medium with which to create a high-resolution piece of art in minimal time.
