BLANKA BOHDANOVÁ

Blanka Bohdanová (1930-2021) was a significant figure in Czech art, active as an actress, painter, artist, and theatre educator.

From childhood, she had a passion for theatre and an interest in fine art, especially ceramics. She graduated from a Business Academy, and after the war, she continued her studies in dramatic acting at the Theatre Faculty of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno.

Her acting career included engagements in various theatres, and she was a member of the Drama Company of the National Theatre in Prague. She received the Thalia Award and twice the František Filipovský Award for dubbing.

Blanka Bohdanová was not only an excellent actress but also an educator. She taught acting at the Prague Conservatory. In addition, she also dedicated herself to fine art, particularly painting and graphics. Her artistic works were regularly exhibited not only in the Czech Republic but also abroad.
