25/11/25 HOW LITHOGRAPHY IS PRINTED? PART I
As part of the current exhibition "Salon Ex libris and Small Graphics," printing will take place in our Gallery. You can look forward to Czech artist Veronika Jelenová, who, along with printer Petr Korbelář, will show us how lithography is printed – the work "Homage to Oldřich Kulhánek."
Stone printing, or lithography, is a planographic printing technique that utilizes the chemical properties of grease and water on a special stone. The artist draws on fine-grained limestone with a greasy lithographic pencil, ink, or crayon, and after chemical preparation of the stone, applies printing ink to it. The drawn areas accept the printing ink, while the undrawn parts repel the ink. Through this process, the lithographic stone with the drawing is ready for printing.
We look forward to having you with us.
